        Dear Minister Cullen,

According to one local landowner (who I
consider to be reliable), the extremely important heritage site referred
to below (under the "MEDIA INFORMATION" heading) as the "Rath of
Fir Mhor" has already been completely destroyed.

Please be aware that in some
archaeological texts, the "Rath of Fir Mhor" is referred to as the "Rath
          of Feerwore".

If true, the destruction of the Rath of Fir
Mhor site must have happened sometime after is was examined in the 1940s
by Mr. Joseph Raftery (who I understand was Director of the National
Museum for a period). Please note I have reason to believe that
Harvard University in the United States may (under the Harvard
Archaeological Mission) have carried out large-scale excavations as well
at the Rath of Fir Mhor site during the 1930s.

In a further effort to try and protect what
is left of local heritage sites, and with due regard for the fact that
the Turoe area is one of three locations in East Galway
        earmarked by the  GOVERNMENT
for the location of a huge
new "Superdump for Connacht" (as reiterated on the
front page of this week's edition of the Connacht Tribune Newspaper,
dated July 11th 2003), it is my intention to send a printed and signed
copy of this e-mail to you through the registered post later today, and
        addressed as follows:

        Mr. Martin Cullen
T.D. (Minister for the Environment and Local Government)

        Custom House

        Dublin 1.

Some of my earlier efforts at trying
to protect local heritage sites can be seen in correspondence connected
with European Parliament Petition 809/2001; and, in
more recent EU Commission correspondence - which
includes a letter that mentions the alleged

€50,000 bribe the leader of the
Green Party (Mr. Trevor Sargent T.D.) very recently raised with you in
Parliament in connection with the local activities of a
company named Celtic Waste, renamed Greenstar
some months ago by the NTR (National Toll Roads)
group.  For further information, please see:

Please note that I myself am also being
subjected to what I consider a VERY severe and very insidious form of
intimidation: which is ongoing, and which involves an attempt to
criminalise me because I shouted at a Galway Council employee who
refused to look an illegal sewage discharges coming from the
primary school in the village where I live (in New Inn, County
Galway).  As far as I know, the warrant issued for my arrest on October
9th 2002 is still in place: despite the fact that the Director
of Public Prosecutions (Mr James Hamilton) and the
Minister for Justice (Mr Michael McDowell T.D.) have both had
the whole situation explained to them in writing.

I wish you to also know that in an effort to
avoid being criminalised (corruptly) in connection with matter outlined
in the paragraph above, I recently spent six months in England trying to
find legal help (in circumstances where I could not find any here).  I
also failed to find legal help in England as well, and though 10 Downing
Street did reply to my letter of December 21st 2002 to UK Prime
Minister Tony Blair M.P., I still have no idea (for example) of
what happened to the registered letters I sent to the London
Metropolitan Police Service and to Amnesty
International last year (while I was staying in England).  For
further information on this matter please refer to:

All things considered, and with due regard
        for the   €50,000 bribe    allegation
mentioned above, I believe it is now time that you and your colleagues
in government initiated a good quality investigation into all of the
above matters: for the purpose of trying to keep some kind of check on
what (for want of a better term) I have referred to in earlier
correspondence as "rampant political, legal, and corporate
corruption" - which those concerned are
indulging themselves in at the expense of ordinary citizens such as
        myself.

It would be much appreciated if you
could let me have written acknowledgement of receipt for this letter
within the coming 14 days please.

        Sincerely,

        William Finnerty.

        ===========================

A new book is being launched at 7.30 pm on
Sunday July 13th 2003 on the present site of the world famous
        Turoe Stone.
The present location of the Turoe Stone is just a mile or so from where it stood during the Iron Age period - which, for Ireland, can roughly be thought of as 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The original location of the Turoe Stone is still referred to by some local people as the "Rath of Fir Mhor" (Fortress of The Great Men); and, there are those who believe that one of Ireland's most famous women - perhaps the MOST famous - may well have been married there: Queen Meave (Medb) of Connacht. It promises to be a very interesting evening, and it includes (among many other things) FREE entertainment and refreshments: together with an "EVERYBODY WELCOME" type of completely open invitation. There are plans for the musical section of the entertainment to be wide-ranging: from Celtic to orchestral, and mostly the product of long-established local musicians with a reputation for outstanding talent. The title of the new book is: "Turoe & Athenry: Ancient Capitals of Celtic Ireland", and it is the result of an enormous amount of painstaking research work carried out over a 40 year period by Fr. Tom O'Connor. This new book, which is a slimmed-down version of Fr. O' Connor's much larger work, has been edited by Dr. Kieran Jordan. Further information regarding the CONTENTS of the book can be found at a new web site which has been specially set up to promote the book launch on July 13th 2003. The address of the new site is: http://www.turoeandathenry.com/

| Please note: In Fr. Tom O'Connor's new book, the above mentioned Rath of Feerwore is referred to as the "Rath of Ferach Mhor". Ferach Mhor was Queen Medb's father and he had his palace in the Turoe/Knocknadala area. He was a Fir Belg Overking and also know as Eochu Felech.
