"I cannot find ONE SINGLE LAWYER ANYWHERE who is willing to even discuss my legal rights (under human rights law) with me, let alone use human rights law on my behalf for the purpose of resolving the difficulties in question."

Torture is indeed a most "Heinous Crime"
by W. Finnerty. Fri Nov 02, 2007 19:37

Edward Horgan (Fri Nov 02, 2007 16:25 above),

Thank you for the information and the personal views you have expressed.

From my viewpoint, things look considerably simper - possibly because I tend to think more in terms of Article 5 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (produced in 1948), which reads as follows:

"No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." (Full United Nations text at http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html )

Personally, I don't think the choice of the words "no one" in Article 5 was an accident, and there is of course no mention whatsoever of Shannon Airport, Egypt, Iraq, or anywhere else (in Article 5). And why should there be?

For the reasons I have already stated, and with my GP's "To Whom It May Concern" letter relating to the C-PTSD medical condition I suffer from particularly in mind, I feel I am being subjected to torture and to cruel, inhuman, degrading and demeaning treatment and punishment for no good reason whatsoever, which has been going on for several years now; and, far more important, I cannot find ONE SINGLE LAWYER ANYWHERE who is willing to even discuss my legal rights (under human rights law) with me, let alone use human rights law on my behalf for the purpose of resolving the difficulties in question.

As you may already know the "European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003" (Republic of Ireland) includes a section for resolving difficulties of the kind I am experiencing. The full text can be viewed at http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2003/en/act/pub/0020/index.html , and Article 13 of this Act reads as follows:

"Everyone whose rights and freedoms as set forth in this Convention are violated shall have an effective remedy before a national authority notwithstanding that the violation has been committed by persons acting in an official capacity."

Thanks however to our grossly corrupt legal profession (as I see things from my viewpoint), our European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003 is NOT being enforced, and nobody in our legal profession will even discuss the matter with me. Consequently, and purely as a function of rampant corruption throughout our entire legal profession (as I see things), the "effective remedy" is NON-EXISTENT in practice. Do you understand this?

"The hills are green far away." What about home though, and the Irish people? Do you not care about Irish people who are being subjected to torture by other Irish people? Somehow, it appears that home-produced and home-based torture may not matter to you?

Earlier this afternoon I sent a copy of my posting at "Fri Nov 02, 2007 12:02" above to a selection of our senior public officials, which included several lawyers, such as for example Senator Ivana Bacik, Reid Professor of Criminal Law, Criminology and Penology at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) Law School. Unfortunately however, past experience suggests that she, and ALL of the several other lawyers the e-mail was sent to, will COMPLETELY ignore the entire contents. If interested, a copy of the e-mail in question can now be viewed at http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com/ChiefJusticeMurray/2November2007/Email.htm

I'm delighted (for you) to learn that you have met many in the Irish legal profession who are both honest and honourable. Please note though that I have not met any of that kind so far, though I do accept that such people may well exist somewhere.

Why don't they show themselves though?

I'm EXTREMELY easy to contact - my e-mail address is available on almost ALL of the 169 pages at present listed at http://www.europeancourtofhumanrightswilliamfinnerty.com , which starts with the one dated May 30th 2006.
