Dear Ms Nolan,

Thank you for your e-mail dated October 19th 2005.  It is much appreciated.

I am still experiencing difficulties with finding a lawyer who will help me to prepare my Application for the European Court of Human Rights.

As I understand it, Mr Gerard Madden (Senior Social Worker in Omagh, County Tyrone) has had a number of telephone conversations regarding my case with a solicitor named Paul Lenahan who works for Madden & Finucane (Solicitors) in Belfast.

I further understand that Mr Lenahan was to e-mail me about a week or so ago.  However, I have not received any e-mail from Mr Lenahan to date.

As you will no doubt know, the Council of Europe operate time limits on applications for the European Court of Human Rights, and I am at present very concerned regarding the possibility of I failing to meet these time limits.

As I see it, the fact that I have been forced to struggle on my own for so long without the help of a lawyer, has meant that my case has now grown far more complicated than it might otherwise have done.  It is entirely because of the growing complexity of my case that I feel I need the assistance of a suitably experienced lawyer to help me fill in the ECHR application form.

My difficulties are further compounded by the fact that my financial reserves are running out, and this is now putting me under a lot of additional pressure.

In an effort to make progress, I am copying this e-mail to Mr Lenahan and to Mr Madden.

If I have not secured the legal help I feel I need within the coming 7 days I will contact you again.

Further information on my case can be found at the following Internet address:

Yours sincerely

William Finnerty.

Dear Mr. Finnerty,

We received a copy of the group email you sent on 10 September to a number of human rights bodies seeking advice on the name of a lawyer who would help you complete an application under the European Convention on Human Rights.

At this stage we hope that you have received advice or recommendations in this matter from some of the bodies you have contacted.  Unfortunately we do not have a list of 'human rights' lawyers and it is against our policy to recommend or give out the names of individual lawyers.

However, if you are still experiencing difficulties in this regard please do get back in contact with us and we will see if there is some other way we can assist you.

We apologise for our delay in getting back in contact with you.

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Nolan
