"If those in power will not fulfil their Constitutional duty to serve the people, then we must remove them and replace them with those who will."
"Protest for a glorious thing" (Pádraig Pearse)
by W. Finnerty. Thu Aug 09, 2007 10:00
There is much I can agree with in both Susan's and Poster's arguments (above), and together they represent for me something of a very welcome breath of fresh air.
Basically though, I would feel more comfortable (for now at least) in Susan's camp.
Try as they might, the greed-ridden types of people may still have a VERY big job on their hands to fully erase the deeply held feelings associated with Pádraig Pearse (executed in Dublin by firing-squad in 1916) and his thoughts of "protest for a glorious thing" - which I personally believe is "genuine democracy" of the kind described by United States President Lincoln as "government of the people, by the people, for the people": the so called "unfinished work" he spoke of (just a short time before his untimely assassination), and its closely associated potential for "genuine justice", and for "genuine peace in the world" of a kind that might well prove sustainable. ("Unfinished Work" this most certainly is!!)
Then the greed-ridden types have the Internet to worry about - for now at least, and possibly for the rest of human history: unless "they" can somehow get overall control of it of course. It's not as easy these days for the "incurably greed-ridden" to hoodwink large numbers of people "in the manner to which they have been accustomed" up until quite recently. (Regarding this point, it's possibly worth keeping in mind that we're ONLY 15 years or so into "The Internet Age" at the present time.)
Last but not least there's the matter of the negative energies aroused by the vast array of injustices that the activities of the greed-ridden invariably seem to set in motion, and which often get reflected back onto themselves eventually, after the hoodwinked people have seen through all the lies and deceptions: and sometimes too it is reflected back (by the victims) onto the "public servants" with plenty of "interest" added. A fairly recent account of the very deeply-embedded and obviously ancient origins of the potent feelings relating to injustice, almost certainly by now genetically coded by "Mother Nature" herself into human flesh and blood in the fullest possible way, and which appear to be universally distributed throughout the entire human race, can be viewed in the writings of Dublin-based psychologist Marie Murray at the following address: .
"The opera ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."

The above text has been copied from the following Indymedia (Ireland) location:

"The United States is in trouble. We're in danger of becoming a fascist dictatorship where big government and big business combine to rule, and where the people are considered just a source of labor. The marriage of government and the investor class has succeeded in exporting our jobs, importing illegal aliens to provide a pool of cheap labor, and thus driving down wages for all American workers and destroying the middle class. Their foreign and military policies have led us into unnecessary wars of aggression to gain raw materials and enhance profits of the global robber barons. Their trade policies have resulted in capital flight, job loss, trade deficits, and the ownership of much of our infrastructure by foreign interests."
"Our Declaration of Independence and Constitution make it clear that the whole purpose of government is to serve and protect the people. Ours is a government designed to be 'of the people, by the people, and for the people'."
"If those in power will not fulfil their Constitutional duty to serve the people, then we must remove them and replace them with those who will."
The three quotes just above are by Dr. Bob Bowman, Lt. Col., United States Air Force, ret.  They have come from an article titled "The Patriots", and the full text of this very revealing article can be viewed at
